Taxi driver killings are a sign of bigger problem

Reports of ‘ritual killings’ of taxi drivers in the last few days suggest there is a new trend in crime the Police need to get to grips with. We hope they tackle this problem with the same zeal they showed for a spate of kidnappings earlier this year.

The proliferation of self-styled wizard-hunters, ghostbusters and so on in recent years is one phenomenon crime experts need to keep an eye on. While it first began with these individuals merely humiliating suspected witches and wizards, there is no denying it has escalated into something a lot more menacing. Several murders of elderly people across the country, arsons and other crimes can be directly linked to the insidious influence of these charlatans. The media must stop seeing them as amusing and the police treating them as a nuisance: The arrest of a few on incitement or accessory to murder charges will help tackle the elder murders.
