Kindiki tells off critics of Kaimenyi and Muthaura

Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki and Imenti South MP Kathuri Murungi have distanced themselves from Meru leaders, pushing to have Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi sacked.

Speaking in Ikumbo village in Maara constituency yesterday during the burial of Casty Kanyua, who worked in his office, Mr Kindiki criticised those calling for the sacking of Kaimenyi because of his support for one faction of Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders.

The leaders have also called for the sacking of Francis Muthaura.

He faulted Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi for asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack the CS.

“We want President Uhuru to employ more people from the larger Meru region and I’m surprised there are those who want the ones in employment sacked,” Kindiki said.

He urged leaders in Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties to stop political wrangles.

Last week, some leaders allied to Governor Peter Munya, Senator Kiraitu Murungi and the newly elected members of Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders asked the President to sack the two on allegations they did not represent the interests of the community.
