Man stabbed girlfriend with fork and urinated on her for being slow to respond to his Facebook messages

A man allegedly tortured his girlfriend by stabbing her with a fork, pouring sauce on her and trying to shove her in an oven - because she was slow to respond to his Facebook messages.

Police say Joseph Castellanos, 31, tortured the woman in a rage after she was slow to respond to his Facebook messages

Joseph Castellanos, 31, is also accused of slapping his partner with a belt buckle, kicking and punching her and urinating on her, police said.

Details of the brutal attack, during which he also allegedly held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, emerged in court documents obtained by KSL.com.

Castellanos, from Utah, allegedly poured ranch dressing and hot sauce on the woman and tried to wrestle her into the oven, the New York Daily News reported.

He is believed to have forced her legs inside before deciding instead to boil water to scald her with.

He is also accused of attacking the woman's dog, stomping on the animal and attempting to kick it as it cowered beneath a table.

The alleged victim was able to break and run to a bathroom where she called police from a hidden mobile phone.

When officers arrived at the couple's home, in Salt Lake City, the man allegedly tried to persuade his girlfriend to lie and say she was attacked by someone else at a train station.

She told officers that it was the second time she had been attacked.

Castellanos allegedly previously stabbed her in the leg, tied her up and threw her in a bathtub of hot water before dragging her by her hair when she tried to escape.

He told her he loved her the next morning, and then raped her twice when she didn’t say it back, authorities said.

Castellanos faces 14 charges, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, forcible sodomy and aggravated cruelty to animals, court records showed.

He was held in prison on £64,000 bail.
