A man from Cheptagum Village, Kabianga Division, Kericho West District was forced to run for dear life when he was busted in the act with a married woman.
A source said that neighbours who were fed up with the cheating wife’s shameless actions, leaked the information to her husband, a subordinate staff at a nearby prominent secondary school, and left him to determine the next cause of action.
Come the fateful Sunday, the woman visited her secret lover’s home where they had been meeting for pleasure, and got down to business not knowing the end was nigh.
“But in the middle of activity, the woman’s furious husband, who was armed with a panga, charged into the man’s house ready to slice them into pieces,” revealed our source only known as Kibet.
Rage
However, before the angry husband could strike, his rival quickly disentangled himself from bed, and dove over to his attacker and wrestled him to the ground. But as they tangoed, he luckily managed to slip from the cuckolded man’s grip, shoved him aside and raced out of the house butt naked. He left his clothes behind to the amusement of villagers who had gathered to witness the encounter after being attracted by the commotion.
The source said that after the nude man’s narrow escape, he ran to Kabianga River, swam across and melted into the bushes leaving his adversary, who had been in hot pursuit all along, boiling with rage.
Manhunt
“If that man had not been a good athlete and swimmer, his story would probably be different now,” said the source, giggling with amusement. “He would have been killed — no doubt about it.”
Meanwhile, the dejected man returned to his house and vented his anger and frustration on his wife, whom he found still in a state of confusion at the turn of events.
He hacked her with a panga, seriously injuring her before disappearing from the scene.
The woman was rushed to Litein Mission Hospital where she is fighting for her life.
A senior police officer in the area, who refused to be named as he is not authorised to speak to the media, confirmed the incident and said police have launched a manhunt to bring the woman’s husband to justice.
His rival must be thanking the heavens for his lucky escape in spite of getting chased around the village in his birthday suit.
