Condoms found in priest’s domicile

By Wachanga Ngondi

When the faithful of a church in Nyandarua County heard the news about the imminent transfer of the junior priest from the parish, they were dumbfolded.

The congregation did not wish to lose the youthful priest who had cut for himself an image of a devout and virtuous servant who was almost saintly.

Unbeknown to them, word had reached the bishop that the priest had embarrassingly compromised his celibacy.

In fact, the senior priest-in-charge had ordered his immediate transfer in order to give room for investigation into the priest’s conduct.

But the priest in question was not set to leave without a memorable farewell. On the last Sunday, before his exit, he presided over a momentous farewell mass. Most members of the congregation regretted that they would not get another chance to listen his great spiritual and moral teachings.

Morality flaws

The following day, a few parishioners volunteered to clean and refurbish his domicile in preparation for a new priest. As they cleaned, they were shocked to find ungodly things in the domicile.

The toilet system was blocked. As they unblocked it they were shocked to find that used condoms had blocked the pipe.

Equally depressing, empty packets of condoms wrapped in polythene bag were found in the priest’s bedroom.

The matter went public and provoked bitter reactions, accusations and mostly regrets.

Consequently, the gossip that had earlier done rounds and gone unheeded was confirmed. It was said that the transferred priest occasionally invited different women to his domicile and eventually coaxed them into sex.

Surprisingly, a woman claimed that she had quit her job as a cook after the priest forcibly smooched and caressed her. She also alleged that the priest possessed erotic books and magazines.

As a result, some staunch parishioners denounced such acts. The culprit’s indecency had not only sullied their faith but also nipped their religious devotion in the bud.
