Mumias East constituency is set to unveil the Top 28 finalists of the Mr. and Miss Mumias East Beauty Pageant after a selection process that attracted 77 contestants.

Organisers said the finalists were picked based on a mix of talent, confidence, intellect and cultural awareness, with the competition positioned as more than a physical beauty contest.

The grand finale will be held on New Year's Eve at Shianda KMTC. At the end of the event, one male and one female contestant will be crowned Mr. and Miss Mumias East 2025 and will receive titles, prizes and opportunities linked to the pageant.

The annual pageant has grown into a key lifestyle and youth-focused event in Kakamega County, particularly within Mumias East. It has also been used as a platform to promote creative expression and community participation among young people.

The competition was founded by Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya, who has been involved in supporting the creative and entertainment industry within the constituency.

Past winners have gone on to secure opportunities beyond the region. Notably, reigning Miss Mumias Bilhah Muhangani has participated in international fashion events in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Dallas, Texas, in the United States.

The New Year's Eve finale is expected to draw government officials, entertainers, local artistes and creatives from different parts of the country. The programme will include musical performances and a red-carpet segment.

KTN media personality Nailantei Kenga will serve as the master of ceremonies during the event.

The pageant is sponsored by Linton's Academy.

As preparations for the December 31 event continue, attention remains on the 28 finalists who will compete for the 2025 titles.
