Why controversy on Eid celebration isn't about to end

Some Muslims defied Deputy Chief Khadi Sukyan Omar and will celebrate Eid Ul Fitr prayers today. On Thursday, Omar said the Hilal (moon crescent) had been sighted in parts of Mandera and Wajir and urged Muslims to end the fast on Thursday and celebrate the start of Eid on Friday.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki also declared yesterday a public holiday. Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir is among those who did not attend the Eid prayers yesterday and is expected to worship at Ronald Ngala School today.
