Lake Victoria, the largest fresh water lake in Africa and second largest in the world, is the pride of Africa. It is also the largest tropical lake in the world with a surface area of 78,000 square kilometres.

The lake borders Tanzania, which has 51 per cent of surface area, Uganda with 43 per cent and Kenya at 6 per cent.
