It is time for persons with disabilities to lead

4.5 million. This is the number of persons with disabilities in Kenya, according to Global Disability Rights Now, a resource centre that provides information, tools and best practices to implement and enforce laws and policies to protect the rights of people with disabilities.

Out of these, only a paltry 33 per cent are employed which translates to 1.48 million in the job market out of a total workforce of 18 million.
