Does vetting Cabinet Secretaries guarantee that we get the best?

If you ask me, vetting helps  get the best suited individuals for the Cabinet secretary jobs. The president and his deputy make the appointments based on wisdom and if anything, the nominees meet the criteria, which makes them fit to hold those offices. I don’t think President Uhuru and Deputy President Ruto would appoint individuals with questionable professional backgrounds, who are likely to be rejected. 

My candid opinion is that vetting the retained Cabinet secretaries would amount to a waste of public resources and invaluable time.
