Gor Mahia fans react after President Kenyatta congratulates the 2017 KPL champions

Gor Mahia clinched their 16^th Kenya Premier League title on 21^st October 2017 after a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars at Kericho Stadium, thanks to Meddie Kagere’s lone goal in the first period.

Moments later, President Kenyatta posted on Twitter congratulating the champions who have four matches to spare.

Congratulations @OfficialGMFC on winning the 2017 (and a record 16th) @TheOfficialKPL title with four games left to play in the season.

This did not go well with some K’ogalo fans who viciously attacked the commander in chief.

They called upon Kenyatta to consult Raila Odinga before congratulating the team, others commented that unless Odinga confirms the news, all remains null and void.
