Education Aid plummets six years in a row

The total amount of aid allocated to education globally has fallen for six years in a row as donors shift their attention to health, population sector and infrastructure, UNESCO has warned.

The UN agency expressed its concerns over aid to education in a new policy paper, Aid to Education is stagnating and Not Going to Countries Most in Need, which shows that the total aid to education stands at US$12 billion, 4 per cent lower than in 2010.
