Ganze constituency's Kanu MP aspirant Anderson Kenga was allegedly kidnapped by unknown people in Tononoka, Mombasa town, on Sunday night.

He was later found lying on an Indian Ocean beach in the area. Reports indicate that the politician was drugged at a dinner in a hotel where he met with unknown people.

He was found unconscious on the beach around Mzambarauni in Kikambala on Monday morning.

Good Samaritans took him to a nearby health facility where he regained consciousness and claimed he had been robbed of his mobile phones, national ID card, ATM cards and documents.

According to Kilifi Kanu Secretary General Alex Mwanza, Mr Kenga is recovering well and investigators are trying to track down the alleged kidnappers.

But Kilifi County Criminal Investigation Officer John Ndungu and Kilifi OCPD Alexander Makau said they had not received reports of the kidnapping.
