The counsel for AG and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission expressed displeasure at the slow pace of hearing of the petition challenging legality of an electoral law requiring public servants to resign six months before the August polls.

Senior State Counsel, Charles Mutinda acting on behalf of the AG, as well as his IEBC legal counterpart, Victor Obodi objected to Erick Cheruiyot's counsel Simiyu Murambi requests for more time to prepare for the suit.

The duo made the argument before the Employment and Labour Relations court Judge Njagi Marete during the commencing of the hearing of the election petition No 1 of 2017.
