From the onset of the announcement of the death of the late Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua, Rigathi Gachagua indeed rose to the occasion in seeing everything went smooth in preparations to give his late brother a befitting send-off.
Despite the grief of losing his brother still fresh, Rigathi seemed to be quite in-charge of the entire process.
A process he ensured was properly managed with him being the source of information with regards to ongoing burial preparations.
Throughout the entire process, information in the public domain was quite consistent.
Rigathi Gachagua is definitely a political figure to watch in the coming days or years.
On the actual burial day, he sat right next to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s left, a sign which analysts say is his gradual political light beginning to shine not only in the counties but also in national politics.
Rigathi’s closeness to his late brother was evident especially when he and his late brother visited areas in Mathira Constituency where Rigathi is said to be eyeing the MP seat and the late Governor was indeed supportive of his prospective candidature for the MP seat.
Will this change and he opts to go for Governor or a senior post? Only time will tell. As former British PM, Harold Wilson said, day or week in politics is a long time!
