Political parties are gearing for a looming showdown as aspirants battle it out for the party nominations slots. With the merger of the jubilee affiliate parties to form a single jubilee party, most of the new aspirants that had an eye for the coveted political seat will have it tough trying to get the party nomination.

In Nandi County, veteran politician Henry kosgey has shown interest in the governor's seat. Having been in politics since the late 70s and working in various capacities in and out of government, he is the front runner for the top county executive seat.
