Court declines to stop recruitment for next Chief Justice

Nakuru High Court yesterday declined to stop ongoing recruitment to fill the vacant positions of Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice and judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Janet Mulwa declined to stop the process and certified the matter urgent and ordered the petitioner to serve the Attorney General, JSC and the Law Society of Kenya, which is an interested party.

Trusted Society of Human Rights Alliance, through their Lawyer Kipkoech Ng’etich, had sought to have the exercise temporally stopped, terming it unconstitutional. JSC shortlisted six applicants from the 14 applicants for CJ post.
