Why Kenyans should pray

Prayer brings you into fellowship with God. Prayer allows the word of God to dwell in you richly. Prayer charges your “spiritual battery” to live a Holy life. Hebrews says, “Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help.”

Prayers also:-

  • Sharpens discernment.
  • Gives us energy.
  • Prevents distractions.
  • Reminds us to act now.
  • Protects us from discouragement.
  • Opens doors of opportunity.
  • Helps us discern between busyness and fruitfulness.

  • Peace of mind “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus”. Philippians.

  • Guidance to make wise decisions “If any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God, “for He gives generously to all and without reproaching, and it will be given to him”. James.
  • Help to avoid temptation “Carry on prayer so that you do not enter into temptation”. Luke.
  • Forgiveness of sins “If my people on whom my name has been called humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear from the heavens and forgive their sin.”2 Chronicles 7:14.
  • A way to help others “A righteous man’s supplication has a powerful effect”. James.
  • Encouragement when prayers are answered .Jehovah said to him [Solomon]: ‘I have heard your prayer and your request for favor that you made before me’.1 Kings 9:3.
  • Comfort from God “Praised be the God and our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender Mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials”.2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

Let us always pray because the benefits of prayers are enormous. We all need prayers in our lives so that we get spiritual nourishment. Let the government rescind the decision of banning prayers during the exams as the Kenyan community needs the prayers to forge ahead. Prayers have been very beneficial to the Government and the Country at large.
