Policeman bites EACC officer's thumb

An Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officer is nursing wounds after he was allegedly bitten by a traffic policeman who resisted arrest over alleged Sh22,500 corruption cash.

The officer sustained serious injuries on his thumb and freed the suspect due to the severe pain he suffered during the Thursday evening incident at Giacai section of the Kutus-Kerugoya Road, Kirinyaga County it has emerged.

The officers however managed to arrest one of the three policemen whom they booked at the Kerugoya Police Station before he was released on a Sh50,000 bond until tomorrow when he will appear in court.

One of the two suspects who escaped the dragnet was said to have been armed with a gun and is still being pursued.
