By Boniface Gikandi | August 20th 2015

President Uhuru Kenyatta will Thursday visit Murang’a County government rehabilitation centre for recovering alcoholics. General Ihura Rehabilitation Centre was established following increased admission of people suffering from alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

On Saturday during a fundraiser for Catholic Diocese of Murang'a, President Kenyatta promised to visit the facility on invitation by Governor Mwangi wa Iria.

Wednesday, General Ihura Stadium, where the centre is located, was a hive of activity, with county government workers making final preparations.

The centre has already admitted 700 people. Iria confirmed the presidential visit to the facility, which has received support from businessmen like Equity Bank Chairman Peter Munga.
