Car and General overhauls 44-year-old engine

Car and General engineers are rebuilding a 14,000cc engine, which has been working for the past 44 years at a cement factory.

Spare parts were sourced from the Cummins engine plant at Columbus in the US. Randall Truter, the Cummins Workshop Manager, said, “Repairing a 44-year-old engine is an unusual task for our technicians, but they have taken it in their stride.”
