A senator has asked leaders to stop playing politics with development projects, warning that this will hurt the county’s growth.
Senator Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu) said yesterday that elected leaders both within and outside government should support Government projects if they have the public’s interests at heart.
Mr Wamatangi said although criticism is in order, opposition leaders should “play a genuine role without using false allegations”.
“Leaders are engaging in insincere and selfish political agendas, which are injurious to development. A section of leaders are always everywhere politically fighting everything including development projects, even in their respective electoral areas,” he said.
