ICC to hold Press Conference on the opening of the Ruto, Sang trial

The International Criminal Court will on Monday September 9 hold a press conference on the opening of Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang’s trial.

ICC Registrar Herman von Hebel will open the conference to be held at ICC’s Press Briefing room in The Hague, Netherlands.

The ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, Defence Counsel for William Samoei Ruto, Karim Khan, the Defence Counsel for Joshua Arap Sang, Joseph Kipchumba Kigen-Katwa and the Legal Representative of the Victims Wilfred Nderitu will then make short statements.

The trial will commence on Tuesday September 10 in the presence of the accused.

The Deputy President and his co-accused Sang are facing charges of crimes against humanity allegedly committed during the disputed 2007-2008 poll.
