President Uhuru Kenyatta in United Arab Emirates for 3-day visit

Dubai, UAE: President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret are in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a 3-day visit.

They arrived on Saturday after a week-long tour of China.

While in China, Uhuru signed a pact worth Sh425 billion with the Chinese government meant to cover development activities in the country.

He also visited various factories and economic zones among them the China National Rice Research Institute which offered to train Kenyan farmers on large scale production of the grain.

The president also looks forward to faster movement of cargo at the port of Mombasa where red tape is rampant. He called upon the port stakeholders to ensure increased speed of clearing goods following a tour to the efficient Tianjin Five Continents International Container Terminal.

The president is expected to discuss Kenya's trade agenda with officials in Dubai.

He will depart from Dubai on Tuesday for Mombasa, where he will host a regional infrastructure summit.
