More than 7,500 victims affected by the huge smoke that engulfed villages around the Lolldaiga Conservancy in Laikipia have finally been compensated by the British Government after a year-long wait.

The government has paid Sh505.4 million (PS2.9 million) on behalf of the British Army Training Unit in Kenya (BATUK) following the devastating fire that broke out during a military exercise in March 2021.
