Man convicted for defiling daughters awaits sentencing

A man who defiled his two daughters in Kirinyaga County will know how fate next week after the Baricho Magistrate ordered the probation office to do an inquiry.

Senior principal magistrate ordered Baricho probation officer to inquire on the case from the two daughters. One has a seven-month-old baby and the other is six months pregnant.

The case had been scheduled for sentencing today after the prosecution said it needed to be supplied with the birth certificates to ascertain the ages of the girls.

The prosecutor was able to produce a P3 form, postnatal care reports and baptism cards to support the case. 

When Magistrate Anthony Mwicigi told the accused that the act attracts life sentencing and that his mitigation was needed, he (the accused) claimed that he was misled by Satan to defile the daughters.

"I pray that the court, those that I have offended including the girls I impregnated. It is my first time to commit such an act, I blame Satan for tricking me…"he said.

Sentencing has been set for January 14.
