Central Kenya gets Sh500 million for road maintenance

NYERI: Central Kenya has received over Sh500 million from the Kenya Roads Board for the maintenance of roads.

In an advertisement, the board said this was part of the conditional grant to the 47 devolved units amounting to Sh3.3 billion, which is in line with the County Allocation of Revenue Act 2015.

According to the schedule released by the board, the disbursement for first and second quarterly allocations amounted to Sh1.6 billion. Kiambu got the lion's share at Sh94.8 million, followed by Meru, Sh82.4 and Murang'a, Sh68 million. Nyeri got Sh56.5, Nyandarua Sh54, Embu Sh48.7 million while Kirinyaga and Tharaka Nithi got Sh44.9 and Sh39.8 respectively.
