Three children saved from ‘ sexually abusive’ father

Three children have been rescued from alleged abuse by their father in Thika.

The minors, aged between two and six, were rescued in Kiganjo estate in Thika town where their father is alleged to have been defiling two of them.

According to area children’s officer Harrison Mwiti, the three, two girls and a boy were rescued from their house after a concerned member of the public raised alarm.

He said the children’s office learnt the children’s father, a causal labourer, had moved into the residence with the children about three months ago.

“We are concerned we did not learn of their plight early enough. It is also sad neighbours knew something was wrong with the children as they claim to have heard them cry at night, but never made effort fast enough to save them,” said Mr Mwiti.

He said the whereabouts of the children’s mother are not yet known but they were looking for their father, who was absent at the time of their rescue.
