Unilever Tea promotes worker's rights

A tea company in Kericho County has embarked on a programme to sensitise its workforce on labour laws. Unilever Tea Kenya Limited is carrying out the exercise in collaboration with Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR). Unilever becomes the first tea company in the region to promote worker’s right. The company’s corporate affairs director Francis Kaptich said more than 150 managers and senior staff have been trained in the exercise taking place at the company.

"Unilever Tea embraces human rights issues touching on our employees as outlined in the new Constitution and labour laws. We want our employees to be trained to enable them understand their rights," Kaptich said.
