Two suspects who pose as stranded motorists arrested

Detectives on Wednesday arrested two suspects who are said to pose as stranded motorists then rob unsuspecting people.

This is after one Twitter user highlighted the issue online, complete with a photo of the two.

It is said that they had tampered with the vehicle’s registration number using a black tape to mislead security officers.

The two, Caroline Wanjiku Maina and Keith Chege, both 25, were arrested along the Southern Bypass towards Kikuyu.

“Detectives swung into action and immediately intercepted the said vehicle with ALTERED registration number KCW 675E along Southern bypass towards Kikuyu where two individuals; Caroline Wanjiku Maina and Keith Njoroge both aged 25yrs were arrested.

“Both suspects placed in lawful custody as further investigations continue. The motor vehicle whose original Registration number is KCV 675F has been detained,” read a tweet by the DCI.

Elsewhere, three officers were on Wednesday arrested following the circulation of a video depicting a woman being whipped and dragged on a motorbike in Kuresoi South Sub-County.

The suspects are in custody helping with further investigations into the matter.
