JUBILEE AND NASA MANIFESTOS: The promises do not translate into tangible change

The season of political campaigns has its stock of drama and blue prints. I have seen snapshots of Jubilee and NASA manifestos. On paper they look well thought and would transform the country in a fundamental way.

The big challenge remains implementation. On job creation I think the current government and NASA recognise that something fundamental needs to happen if we want stability.

On matters economic, it is inferred we have to do much more to industrialise as a country and to be an attractive destination of heavy investments.

The opportunities are there but we have plenty of homework to do. The same applies to areas like food production, it is high time we develop strategies and adopt technologies to stem this potential disaster of inability to feed our country.

There are areas like Education which need big attention. We need to be more innovative in tertiary education and universities. Infrastructure should be a big thing for any regime in Kenya. We can’t develop or be a modern state without sufficiency in infrastructure.

The same case is security. Without a country fully secure and free from crime we won’t move forward. Talk of Health. A lot through NHIF has been happening and improving but there is too much to be done in this area.

The next government agenda is quite huge and very demanding in actions and resources.
