Fill vacant positions in State corporations

Boards and councils of State corporations are their supreme organs.

It is their responsibility to oversee the overall running of parastatals. One of the main responsibilities of these organs, is to appoint chief executive officers.

Currently, positions of CEOs in some State corporations are vacant and the citizens as the main stakeholders are looking up to boards to fill these positions competitively and in a transparent manner without political interference or otherwise.

Corporations under various ministries are affected and a number of them have been without boards. This is unfair to the stakeholders.

It is important that the boards speed up the process of filling up vacant positions to speed up service delivery. Further delays will hurt the parastatals more. The ball is in the court of board and council members.
