Political coalitions: The art of self preservation

By Mohamed Wato

The rules of the political game have changed to a great extent under the new constitution and politicians now have to submit their order of battle three months before they  face the electorate.

The scramble by leading aspirants to seek suitable partnerships ahead of election timeline has revealed the depth of their selfishness and true character of political leaders.

It is astounding to see Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, the Wiper chief feeling at home with his former rival Raila Odinga.

The wiper has either upgraded or undergone genetic modification to become a sturdy and shiny orange from a once well known juicy and often slippery water melon.

Musalia Mudavadi, the son of Mulembe, was all over the map searching for a suitable partnership.  His aerial terminals were yielding sooner it received positive signals coming from URP/TNA establishment. He was certainly smart having surrendered without causing the Mulembe nation unnecessary collateral damage.

Now that the game has started, it looks like a tough ride for some.  In the wake of this melt down, it is very important to watch how key players move to the net.

To me, Peter Kenneth is looking good so far in this game that has just started. Let's cheer for the winning team.
