Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones’s son has died after he allegedly committed suicide at his home in Kiamunyi estate, outskirts of Nakuru town.

According to doctors at War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru, Collins Kipyegon died at the Intensive Care Unit where he was rushed to.

“He was rushed here early morning for having taken poison and doctors did all they could do to save his live but unfortunately he died,” said a doctor on condition of anonymity.

The doctor added that he was received at the hospital with breathing difficulties.

A friend who spoke on condition of anonymity said Kipyegon who lived with his wife has been having family issues.

“He has been having marital issues which we suspect drove him to commit suicide,” he said.

Nakuru deputy OCPD Daniel Kitavi, however, refused to comment about the incident saying he was not aware.
