Police arrest two people, car parts recovered

Two people suspected to be motor vehicle thieves were on Tuesday arrested by police in Godown area, Kariobangi and car parts recovered.

The vehicle parts included engines, doors and number plates. Police said they suspect the cars had been stolen from owners before being taken to the area where they were dismantled.

It is believed that the suspects may have been stealing motor vehicles, dismantle them and sell as spare parts. Police say further investigations are ongoing.

Such cases are common in the city where stolen cars are cut and body parts sold as spares.
