Kenya: Kenya’s Twiga Tours has won the coveted World Responsible Tourism Award at the 21st World Travel Awards finals held in Anguilla, Caribbean. The award comes after Twiga Tours won Kenya’s Inbound Tour Operator and Africa’s Responsible Tourism Award for the second consecutive year this past September.

Mr Minaz Manji, the Group CEO termed the reward as a remarkable achievement for them. “Just receiving the nomination was an honour in itself but to actually win the award is incredible,” he said.

Twiga Tours directs its community service programs through The Manji Foundation. The Manji Foundation has partnered with 12 schools across the country along the tourism circuit. The first area of assistance is through the feeding program which ensures children receive at least one meal per day.

The foundation then directs additional support to schools based on individual needs, from building of ablution blocks to dormitories, assistance with school fees and salaries.
