Kakamega man filmed hacking suspected chicken thief to death arrested

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters have arrested a man who was recorded on camera hacking a suspected chicken thief to death in Shinyalu Kakamega County.

The owner of the chicken has also been arrested.

“The other three suspects: 34-year-old Evans Lichoti Ashihundu, 43-year-old Agapitus Ingosi Ang’uswa and 48-year-old Reuben Smith Shitambasi. All in lawful custody helping in further investigations,” said the DCI.

In the video, Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi was filmed cutting the suspected thief into pieces using a panga.

The suspected thief reportedly sustained serious injuries that led to his death.

The video went viral on Sunday morning prompting the office of the DCI to dispatch its officers who conducted the arrests.

Confirming the arrests, the DCI tweeted” ““Mr Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi alias President who was captured on a viral video savagely cutting a man on allegations of stealing a chicken has been arrested by #DCI Detectives from the HQs. Three other suspects also arrested including the owner of the alleged stolen chicken.”

The four are set to be arraigned on Monday to face murder charges.
