Industrial Court blocks Nyeri from transferring nurses

The Industrial Court has blocked the county government from transferring 152 nurses.

Through their Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) representative Odongo Okatch, the nurses said in court that they were being intimidated by the county government because of the ongoing strike.

The nurses complained that they had been subjected to transfers without sufficient notice.

Mr Odongo said the 152 nurses had appealed against their transfers and described the county's move as malicious and frustrating.
