KCB gives scholarship to bright needy pupils

KCB Foundation has presented scholarships to five bright students who sat last year's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). Presenting the scholarships, KCB Meru County branch manager Charles Kiara said the money will cater for fees, uniforms and other essentials for four years.

''We have also assigned each one of them a mentor. The aim of the programme is to give the pupils a chance to a better life. Our joy is to see them complete high school, join university and get good jobs," said Kiara.

One of the beneficiaries Jane Karekie, who is physically disabled said through a translator: "My dream is to become a teacher, so that I can help others get an education."
