Benson Ndung’u announced New KPMG East Africa CEO

KPMG East Africa have elected Benson Ndung’u as Senior Partner and CEO-elect.

Benson will be assuming the role effective 1st September 2019 succeeding Josphat Mwaura when his term ends after ten years dedicated service to the firm in that role.

 “He is a thought leader in financial services and has provided audit services to some of the largest local and multinational clients in East Africa, representing a diverse mix of private, public interest and listed entities,” KPMG said in a paid advert in the Standard Newspaper.

Benson is the immediate former Managing Partner of KPMG in Uganda, a role he served between 2007 and 2017. He is currently the Head of Tax in East Africa, a role he assumed last year after transitioning from the audit practice. Benson has been a dedicated Executive Committee member since 2007 and currently serves as a member of Africa Tax Board.

Speaking after the announcement of his election to staff, Benson said that: I am deeply honoured and humbled by the trust that the Partners have placed on me. My commitment is to continue to take advantage of the immense opportunities in the market to achieve the strategic aspirations that we have set ourselves”.

Benson was admitted as a partner in 2007 and has over 20 years post qualification experience in audit and tax across various industries.
