A Kenya startup, Mookh Africa, has emerged the overall winner in the Visa Sub-Saharan Africa Everywhere Initiative, pocketing Sh5 million.

The programme is designed to encourage development of the ‘next big thing’ in payments.

Mookh developed a social business payments solution that makes it easy to buy and sell on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

It beat 11 other finalists selected from 238 submissions.
