Good lighting, sanitation and quality feed key in control of poultry diseases

This week, I received an e-mail from Jared Amesa, a reader and farmer seeking expert advice on a range of diseases that discourage many from venturing into poultry farming.  Here is his e-mail:

I am a small scale poultry farmer who started with about 200 day old chicks. There have been challenges as regards to mortality of the hens. I strictly followed vaccination schedules, but between the third and fifth months, my hens started dying at a high rate from a disease I didn’t understand.
