Kenya Power names Dr Ben Chumo acting CEO

KENYA: Kenya Power has named Dr Ben Chumo as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to replace Eng Joseph Njoroge who was appointed as Principal Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.

Dr Chumo who is currently the Chief Manager, Human Resources and Administration, was appointed on Thursday morning  by the Kenya Power Board of Directors.

The acting CEO will  commence his duties from July 1st 2013 as the company embarks on a process to recruit a substantive managing director and CEO.

Dr Ben Chumo joined the Kenya Power Company in 1986 as a Human Resources Officer, and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Manager responsible for human resources and administration in 2003. He has wide knowledge of operations of the organisation having previously been deployed in all regions of the Company.
