Clarification and apology

Business

In our Tuesday issue of The Standard, we inadvertently used the picture of Peter Wanyaga Muthoka, the Group Chairman of the Kenya Commercial Bank Group (pictured) instead of that of Mr Peter Wambua Muthoka.

We wish to clarify that Mr Peter Wanyaga Muthoka has nothing whatsoever to do with the CMC Holdings boardroom and shareholder tussle, which we reported extensively in The Standard.

He is also not related in any way with Mr Peter Wambua Muthoka, who owns Andy Forwarders Services and is embroiled in the CMC Holdings saga as a shareholder and former board chairman.

We take this earliest opportunity to clarify this position and apologise to Mr Peter Wanyaga Muthoka for the embarrassment caused to him, his family, friends and associates by this regrettable incident caused by a technical mix-up of pictures as a result of similarity in names and initials.

Mr Peter Wanyaga Muthoka is a well-known and respected corporate leader with 40 years experience in the private and public sectors in the fields of finance, investment, education and international diplomacy.

He previously served in the Government of Kenya, the Central Bank of Kenya and as Chief Executive Officer of both Export Promotion Council and Sasini Ltd.
