Pastor accused of drugging, sodomising man

A pastor has been charged before a Kibera court with sodomy.

However, Nicholas Kitungu Mwendwa denied the charge of committing unnatural offence with another male before Senior Principal Magistrate Grace Nzioka and was released on Sh400,000 bond and a surety of similar amount.

The offence was allegedly committed on August 27, 2008 at Kawangware in Nairobi. It is alleged that the pastor, 41, committed the unnatural act with the complainant, 19, without his consent after drugging him.

Drugged tea

The complainant claimed he knew the suspect as their pastor and his mother’s colleague at Maranatha Academy.

The pastor is said to have visited the complainant’s home late in the evening and requested his escort to his (cleric) house.

The complainant claimed while at the pastor’s house, the pastor offered him tea and after taking it he experienced unusual fatigue before the clergyman dragged him to bed and sodomised him all night.

The complainant said he discovered his body had been messed up when he woke up from the pastor’s bed the following morning. The case will be heard on February 8.
