Eviction notice for Ndorobos expire

The fate of more than 25,000 members of the Ndorobo community in Mt Elgon hangs in a balance after an eviction notice served by the Government to vacate Chepkitale forest expires today. But the families have vowed not to move out of the 120,000-acre moorland, which is part of Mt Elgon Forest, arguing it is their ancestral home and they have nowhere else to go.

Area DC Kassim Farah confirmed the eviction plan is still on if families don’t move.
