Inmates to sit in Naivasha

More than 3,000 students including 14 inmates serving life sentence will sit this year’s KCSE exams in Naivasha District.

However, no candidate was registered at Naivasha’s IDP camps, which were home to more than 10,000 poll violence victims.

Education officer Mathew Aboka said 1,694 boys and 1,654 girls had been registered for the national examination.

"The materials are in place in all the 54 exam centers and the invigilators are ready," he said.

Mr Aboka said no ugly incidents had been reported.

And at the Naivasha prison, the 14 inmates prepared for the papers.

Prison Welfare Officer Douglas Mugendi said 15 candidates had been registered but one had fallen ill.
