High knee

It’s not exactly short and just what you need for a sexy look-an above the knee skirt.

Perfect for the office without looking sleazy as it does not reveal too much skin and comfortable too. Hence the fears of how practical it might be if you need to bend or cross your legs are nothing to worry about.

Pencil and A-line skirts are the best styles when going for the slightly short skirt. While pencil skirts might favour petite bodies A-line flatters most body types. If you are skinny go for one that fits a bit lose so that the fabric glides at the hips hence giving the impression of curves. If you are full bodied wear a perfect fit and not tight, the flare makes the hips and thighs appear smaller.

Extra details like a few pleats either on the side or in the middle makes your skirt interesting. A stylish shirt or blouse also compliments an above the knee skirt. Brightly coloured ruffled blouses are in and will do the trick.

Big tip(s)

Shoes will offset your look. Pumps, stiletto or anything high enough to elongate the body is what you should look for. Flats and very low heels give a dowdy look, even your mirror can testify to this.

If you are above 50 years we obviously don’t expect you to be wearing a skirt of this length no matter how young you feel at heart (exception to Maddona).

Keep accessorise subtle. The skirt itself is already an eye-catching piece. Small silver, gold or pearl earrings should be fine. Keep the bracelets and chains minimal and simple too.

If you have to wear stockings let them be of the same colour tone as that of your skin.
