Young Parliamentarians who give hope, hold future of this country
The nation is crying for – single minded, sober, detribalised Kenyans who will see the country’s challenges for what they are and not through politics as usual.

No democracy in parties, candidates defend personal interests
Politicians should give us all a break! While at it, consider removing any hint of the word democratic, in their party names.

Lessons from recent fiasco surrounding ongoing party primaries
For true democracy to be achieved, these parties must work harder in the five years between elections, to strengthen their structures and systems.

Time for the real party owners, members to stand up

We must strive to live and act strictly within the Constitution’s four corners
What is of greater concern is the statement made by the president thereafter. He promised and even swore, by God, that should the doctors go on strike ever again, he will sack them without thinking twice!

Is the National Assembly trying to kill devolution?
The National Assembly has 349 members, the senate has just 67. If you really want to cut down on expenses, it is rather obvious which one should be scrapped.

Go high Mr President. Go high!
At the height of the US campaigns Michelle Obama made an iconic statement – she said "When they go low, we go high." How I wish that could be said of the President of the Republic of Kenya.

My Take: The recently released report on bullying at Alliance High School
Tales of what the students were allegedly subjected to, read like the script of a horror movie. From beatings through the night, to broken limbs, being forced to lie on graves, making phone calls using smelly shoes, being denied food and much more.

My Take: Renewed attempt to oust Auditor General after DPP clearance
My take is about the renewed attempt to oust the Auditor General through a petition to the National Assembly. This after he has been cleared by the Director of Public Prosecutions from any wrong doing.

When is enough enough?
Have we become such an insensitive society that we no longer care about the things that are truly important? Why do we allow our politicians to simply see us as statistics and voting machines?

Will Mandatory Registration Improve Democracy?
Some overzealous Kenyans are taking the need to register as a voter a bit too far.

Trust at the center of 2017 polls
The one thing that will make this a credible, free, fair and peaceful election is trust. That seems to be a very expensive commodity these days.

Are we getting comfortable with the health crisis in Kenya?
This may well be the worst labour crisis to hit the health sector in recent memory. That we can all seemingly move on with our lives is despicable.

Doctors’ strike; we all lose!
The logic was simple: if there is enough to steal, then surely there must be enough to pay the men and women who save lives every day!

Why should Kenyans fund party primaries?
There’s a political question looming over our heads as we head to the elections; that of party primaries and who will fund them.

Could 'wananchi' be the main drivers of corruption in Kenya?
We are not about to justify any form of corruption here, but could it be that we are the main drivers of this vice?

The not so diplomatic withdrawal of Ezekiel Mutua’s diplomatic passport
While Ezekiel Mutua is a government official and may typically not mean any harm, how sure can we be that we don’t have some crazy fellow with ill intentions out there, walking around with our diplomatic passport?

Grand posturing by ODM and Jubilee; where does that leave you?
What the country has been subjected to is reminiscent of children on a playground arguing over whose daddy has a bigger car than the other.

How sports managers ‘crippled’ team Kenya at the Rio Olympics
In the USA, there is no sports ministry; yet they top the medal standings at almost every Olympic Games. As a matter of fact they scooped no fewer than 118 medals in the just-concluded Rio Olympics; compared to Kenya’s 13.

The monkey business at Kenya Power
Kenya Power is a state owned parastatal that receives our taxes as well as the bills paid for services provided that sometimes lack lustre. There is a threshold to just how much bad service Kenyans can take. Despite all this, Kenya Power has announced its intention to be an internet service provider. Perhaps that may be helpful so we can all tweet to alert them of power outages in our homes.

Praises for the US, but are Kenyan leaders learning anything?
Political parties are no longer private entities and their leaders are ultimately accountable to every Kenyan. That is why the question must be asked, why is it that after all these years of attending such meetings, the lofty ideas are yet to be transferred to Kenya’s political parties?

The wrangles in ODM and why you should care
It cannot be that any time anyone is unhappy with the performance of a party official; they can just storm the party offices and take over. Every political party must have the structures and the culture that discourage anyone from even thinking about such acts.

MPs' 'miserable' date with reality
Why would members of parliament expect any preferential treatment while thousands of Kenyans languish in these very cells without the luxury of a lawyer to argue their case? These ordinary Kenyans have no media to highlight their plight and no politician to give ultimatums to the government on their behalf? How many of these members of parliament have ever fought this hard for the so-called ordinary Kenyans to be held in dignified cells? How many bills of such nature are pending before either House?
