It’s yet another gold for Kenya as Elijah Motonei Manangoi leads his compatriot Timothy Cheruiyot to win gold and silver in the men’s 1500m final at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Manangoi crossed the finish line at 3:34.78 while Cheruiyot came second at 3:35.17 to beat Scotland's Jake Wightman who came third at 3:35.97
This is the fourth gold and seventh silver for Kenya at the Gold Coast.
Kenya now moves up to position 13 in the medal table with a total of 17 medals, four gold, seven silver and six bronze.
The race was the final individual track event for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and it is Kenya's pride they emerged with gold and silver.
Manangoi competed in the 1500m at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing winning the silver medal and at the 2017 World 2017 Championships, where he won the gold medal.
Cheruiyot Timothy won the silver medal at the 2017 World Champonships in the 1500m race event in London, Great Britain. He made a personal best of 3:29.10 in the 1500m race in Monaco last year.
